Alicia, Co-Director, is a Child and Youth Worker in Toronto. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature (Honours) from Mount Allison University in New Brunswick, as well as a CYW Diploma from Humber College in Toronto. Alicia loves everything about living in Toronto, except for the fact that she’s encountered more street harassment here than anywhere else in the world. Her extensive travel experience and interest in social justice issues has led her to take on the role of international leader in the anti-street harassment movement.
Amy, Co-Director, is a writer and researcher who lives and works in Toronto. She holds a Master of Arts in English literature from McGill University and a Bachelor of Arts in English literature (Honours) from Mount Allison University in New Brunswick. Her multiple experiences with street harassment since moving to this city have reaffirmed the prevalence and gravity of this problem. Amy is confident that the Hollaback! movement’s powerful combination of the written word and social media will help to eradicate street harassment. She enjoys dancing at concerts, having spontaneous adventures, and writing about them when she has the time.
Amanda, Social Media Guru, is a public servant working in digital strategy and communications. She hails from a very (*very*) small town in southern Ontario, and lived in Kingston teaching sexual health education and studying politics at Queen’s before moving to Toronto. Amanda has seen the difference that learning about consent, respect and healthy relationships can make, as well as the impact that support and community can have on someone who has faced harassment or assault. She’s excited by the work that Hollaback! does, and looks forward to the day when she can wear a dress to work without actively avoiding construction sites along the way. She fangirls, strategizes, rants and liberally blocks MRAs from her Twitter feed, @juddrnaut.
